Restoring SIM contacts to iPhone 4?

I bought a new iPhone 4 YESTERDAY. Today, I went onto iTunes to sync it and put my music and apps from my previous iPod touch, onto my iPhone. A message came up asking me if I wanted to start fresh or import my backup from my iPod. I clicked import backup. After 20 minutes of waiting for it to sync, I found that all of my SIM card contacts had been replaced with the few address book contacts that I had on my iPod. After many tears, ands internet searching, I still haven't found a solution. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! HOW DO I RESTORE MY CONTACTS?!Restoring SIM contacts to iPhone 4?
If you saved your contacts on the SIM Card and not the phone, then itunes cannot "edit" them since they are stored on the SIM.

Simply tap Settings on the main screen, Tap Mail/Contacts/Calendars, Tap Import SIM Contacts.

Walla...

If that dont work, then see your carrier store or AppleStore or call Apple at 1800myiphone.... itunes does not have the ability to edit "carrier-based" technology (the SIM card)

good luck
